A Message from Thomas
Well friends, after my first trip to Peru in May 2005, I came away saying that this was one of the best trips of my entire life. No kidding! I have traveled extensively so this is quite a statement to make. There are so many factors, which combined, made this an extraordinary and inspirational experience for me and the whole group. First of all, in many ways this was a dream come true. I learned in the late 80’s that Peru and the Andes mountains are the spiritual epicenter of the age of Aquarius, which is just beginning, ie; the New Age. In contrast, the Himalayas and Tibet have been the spiritual epicenter of the Age of Pisces, which is just ending. This information has been in my consciousness since then and was certainly the backdrop for my first trip to Peru and the Sacred Valley.
The retreat center of Wilka T’ika is in an incredible garden setting on the ouskirts of the town of Urubamba, with high mountains rising in all directions around us. The center is hosted by Carol and Mark and their team of local Peruvian family members who take very good care of us at every turn. The yoga room is great and our rooms in the place were awesome. I’ve always travelled quite independently so was amazed at having every bus and train arranged for us, even the cost of tipping figured out in advance; no surprises in this way. And then the fieldtrips to the local towns and sites with our guide were deeply informative and focused on giving us a feel of the Andean spirituality. And of course our journey to Macchu Picchu was the prized jewel of our adventure. This lost city of the Incas was never never discovered by the Spaniards, so it remains intact after all these years, still leaving a deep impression on all who make their pigrimage to this sacred site. It was and will be yet again, an unforgettable adventure into the past and present.
I’ll be going on the Bolivia extension this year which begins 4 or 5 days before our retreat and will meet everyone in Cuzco. I welcome you to join me on this adventure to La Paz and Lake Titicaca. I went on the Inca trail last year and will do it again iin a heartbeat if I can swing it with my schedule. If you want to do the Inca trail you must decide early and we’ll get set up through a larger trekking organization.
I can hardly wait to return to Peru and
the Sacred Valley. I hope to see you on those special peaks and
valleys.

About This Retreat
Our program includes daily yoga classes, as well as guided visits to Machu Picchu, Cusco and other major sacred sites, teaching on the spiritual wisdom of the Andes and authentic Andean ceremonies. We will be based at Willka T'ika Guest House with its magnificent hardwood yoga studio, sacred gardens, Andean herbs and organic vegetarian meals. There is no place like Willka T'ika in Peru, and no other retreat program to match this one.
Willka T'ika, set in breath-taking gardens, was designed as a yoga retreat and herbal center filled with Andean medicinal plants. Gourmet meals in the guesthouse are vegetarian, prepared from organically grown vegetables from the gardens. The magnificent yoga studio built from earth materials has hardwood floors, heating and wonderful lighting. In addition to the yoga studio, seven sacred gardens for healing and meditation, indoor meditation rooms, solar-heated floral medicinal baths, healing massage rooms and a crystal bed healing room are available to guests.

- Please allow between $5-$10 for meals not included in the itinerary.
- Airport Tax: Approximately US $35 total per person.
- Tipping: It is customary for each participant to tip guides, drivers, healers and Quechua staff for services. Please keep aside (customary $8 per day) a total of $88 per person. We pool the money at the start of the journey to be divided up for the entire trip.
